Fred has kindly put some words together and donated the picture of the St Clements plaque.
Have butchers at the words below: –
This stone plaque was cut to size and the wording carved at Lambeth College to commemorate the move of the Clements Hospital group to new premises.
The stone itself is slate and the carved lettering is carved in. The AA symbol is painted in gold masonry paint.
The coins/chips have been embedded in holes carefully drilled into the slate
surface. One of the coins/chips is a 37-year chip to note the number of years
that the meeting was at that venue. The other coin placed reverse up to display the wording on the back of the coin.
Originally it was planned to display only one coin but after discussion it was agreed for reasons of aesthetics, balance and symmetry to have the A.A. symbol between the two coins.
The plaque has since been donated to the General Service Office and can be seen up the head offices on York. St Clements meeting closed in 2007.
